Wearing one fucked up shoe on two can have several reasons. You are a skateboarder or a biker (we won’t talk about being footfister, it is practiced barefoot in general). Dirty Left Foot is a project initiated by “Jampy” from Big Bore Cycles, well-known tuner, and “JMZ” skate activist and owner of the skate shop Pulp68, both installed in Geneva with offices a few meters away from each other. I met this pair of uncommon characters at the Bright in Berlin, two oldtimers who showed me what’s kicking them right now.
Jim: “ Skate is a big part of my life, I’m in it since 25 years, then here, we ended up to be a little delirious with Jason, Jampies son. He wanted to see the world of skateboarding and I wanted see the bikes on which he worked in his studio with eyes full of stars. ”
Jampy : “It’s his first visit to the shop that impressed him. I’m in there since years, I don’t really realize what I do actually. It’s seeing him arrive with eyes that made me feel like a mad man, that everything started. (...) I wanted to create something with a brand. I had already worked for small structures and I wanted to get closer to what I like, something pure, old school. The lung that triggered that, is Jim. The fact that the world of the bike was joining the world of skateboarding was our knack. Then the fact that many old skaters stopped skating and turned to the bike, was part of our motivation.”
Greatly supported by DC, JP and Jim found themselves on a project of scale, bringing together two different worlds, two passions in order to create a unique custom they called “DLF The Machine”. They spent over a year and a half to combine their know-how and ideas on this project that is emerging right now. So stay tuned !
